Ireland’s Largest Sporting Arena

Croke Park

Home to Ireland’s largest sports organisation, the GAA and a capacity of over 80,000, Croke Park is Ireland’s biggest stadium and the third largest stadium in Europe. The park has been used as a sports ground since 1870 and still does so now. With its massive spectatorship, it has also been the host of some world renown acts, as the stadium also acts as concert grounds, such as U2, Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran.

Aviva Stadium

The Aviva Stadium, situated on the grounds of the historical and former stadium Lansdowne Road holds over 50,000 spectators.  Founded in 2010, it’s a massive stadium that has seen football matches of teams from all around the world. The Aviva also hosts large rugby matches throughout the year. Test matches and friendlies from international clubs can also been seen here. For example, the Aviva saw a brilliant 5-0 win by the UK’s Liverpool FC over Italy’s Napoli FC in 2018.

The National Theatre Of Ireland

Abbey Theatre

The Abbey Theatre is one of the country’s leading cultural institutions. Inspired by the revolutionary ideas of their founders, the Abbey continues to host an array of Irish and international shows. Established in 1904 by W.B. Yeats and Lady Gregory, the theatre is rich in history and has been the centre of Irish theatrical culture since its foundation. They also provide tours at a reasonable price, bringing tourists to the heart of the stage during the day, examining how the stage works and delves into the history of the theatre.
