Ireland’s small but mighty capital, Dublin, can often be overwhelming to get around and see all your favourite attractions, restaurants and pubs. The great thing about staying with us, Ashling Hotel, is that we have an array of different public transport right at our doorstep. From the train, buses, Luas lines and taxi ranks, we put together a transport guide to make your stay relaxing and calming, removing the stress of figuring out how to get from A to B.

Leap Card

Before you embark on any form of public transport, we recommend you purchase a ‘Leap Visitor Card’.  It is the most convenient public transport card available for tourists and visitors in Dublin, making creating around Dublin easy and stress free. The contactless smart card can be used on the majority of transport services such as  Airlink, Dublin Bus, Go-Ahead Ireland routes in Dublin, Luas, DART and Commuter Rail. You can even travel to and from the Airport at the start and end of your trip without any additional charge

LUAS Tram

The LUAS Tram (Red Line) goes right past our front door and will bring you straight into the city centre in a matter of minute. We are situated 5 minutes walk from both Museum and Heuston Station Luas stops. Ideal for eager shopping fans, you get off at Jervis Shopping Centre and browse the shops. To get a real free for Dublin City, hop off on Abbey Street to visit the GPO Witness History Visitor Centre or take a few snaps of the iconic Spire, a 121m high pin-like, stainless steel monument located in the middle of Dublin’s famous O’Connell Street that commemorates the 1916 Rising trust us you can’t miss it.

Leap cards are accepted at all LUAS Tram stops across the city.

Dublin Bus

There are 4 Dublin bus routes (25a/25b/66/67) close to the Ashling Hotel that run to Merrion Square through the city centre. Hop off anywhere in the city centre and explore or get off at Merrion Square, the heart of Georgian Dublin and check out the Oscar Wilde statue and visit the museums or take a short walk over to St. Stephens Green Park and hit the boutique shops on Grafton Street.

Train

Heuston Intercity Railway Station is a 2-minute walk from our front door and has train services that connect Dublin with the rest of Ireland. Fancy a day trip outside 0of Dublin? Train’s from Heuston Station serve cities like Cork, Galway, Limerick and many places in between.

 Tickets can be purchased in Heuston Station or online.

Hop on Hop off Tours

Many of our guests recommend the Hop on Hop off bus tour. The tour bus passes all of Dublin’s premier attractions including the Guinness Storehouse, Jameson Distillery and Kilmainham Goal. Catch the bus on Parkgate Street right beside the hotel and explore all that Dublin has to offer. Commentary on board is delivered in 8 languages (English, Spanish, Cantonese, German, Italian, French, Russian, and Japanese). Tickets can be purchased from our Front Desk Team at reception.

From Dublin Airport

Getting to Ashling Hotel from Dublin Airport couldn’t be easier! The 747 Airlink Bus runs between Dublin Airport to Heuston Station which is just a 2 minute walk from our front door. Services run every 15-20 minutes and tickets cost €7 single and €12 return. The journey can take up to 1 hour depending on traffic levels in the city but don’t worry, you’ll be with us in no time!

Parking

At Ashling Hotel, we understand the stress of finding parking during an overnight stay especially is such a busy city like Dublin. We offer a secure, multistorey car park, with over eighty spaces available with a special overnight rate.

For residents of the hotel, the rate is €12.50 for 24 hours. For non-residents, there is a charge of €2.80 per hour.

Due to the high demand please note that our hotel car parking is on a first come, first served basis
